The Grandma Image
For some reason, when illustrators produce images of grandmothers for story books, this is what you get.... excessively wrinkled, overly plump, completely gray-headed, and frumpily dressed.
Well, for my kids, that is the image of GREAT-grandma. For them, grandma is young, energetic and thin, with cute hair and clothes. Something like this....

ReplyDeleteWell, Emily, you ask only about the second part of my riddle, and not the first. If you understand the first part, then the second part would seem obvious.... or so I thought. But perhaps you don't understand the first part as you think you do. Here is a hint: My mom figured it out in about 2 seconds, and it probably took my siblings about 15 seconds to get it. If that doesn't help, here is another hint: My parents have 11 children, 7 of which are girls. Is that obvious enough for you?
