Today's News

Here is today's news article.

And a message from Christian: He really appreciates all of your love and concern and support, but even though he is "home" he is still not ready for visitors outside of family. I will let you know when that changes.

  1. I just wanted to drop a little note. I was in your parents ward for 7 years and love your family. Liz was one of Mia Maids years ago. I also grew up in Bluewater till the 5th grade. Small world! I just hope you know that we are praying for your family and think you ALL are amazing. Thanks for sharing your life with us it inspires me to try to live better life and be more like Stephanie.

i tried to leave this on Lizzies blog when i read the article, but it wouldn't let me, grr!
i just wanted to say that once again this story amazes me. what a blessing that Lucy is pregnant. the timing is perfect. everything, i believe, happens for a reason and at a certain time, and this story continues to reinforce that belief.
i am praying so hard for stephanie and her family, especially for christian. i can't imagine how hard it is for him, please let him know we are all thinking of him and sending him so much love and positive thoughts. he is so brave, i can't even begin to express what's in my heart.
i know it's been said a million times, so let me make it a million and one: what an amazing family, what an amazing story. thank you for sharing it, we are all so blessed because of it. xox

  3. Thank you for taking the time to update us! I know that there is so much going on right now, as there has been since the accident. Every tidbit of information you have the time to share really lifts and inspires so many people who have been praying for them. There truly are so many people that care deeply about Christian and Stephanie!

  4. I especially liked Jaimee Rose's article on sisters. I've been having everyone read it...even those that aren't familiar with the situation. It is very touching. It makes me want to be a better sister and friend.

I also smiled that Lucy is pregnant. I saw her at the 5K with motion sickness bands on and I wondered. :)

  5. Oh my goodness! I'm loving the updates but my son is wondering why I've been crying so much. I'm so thankful they are both healing and getting better.
I loved both articles. My favorite was when Courtney said "Sisters are the closest thing to you, the closest thing to yourself." That is so true. My sister and I have always been very close. But this story has actually brought us closer. I didn't think that was possible. Thank you for the updates.

    Alice,
Thank you for your blog. It is so encouraging to hear that Christian and Stephanie are progressing. I just wondered if Nicholas is ok since there was no mention of him coming down to see his dad.
Thanks also for the links to the AZ Republic articles. It's nice to hear that both families have rallied to help and offer options. I am hopeful that with that support Stephanie and Christian will be able to work out their own plans together soon.
My family and I wish you all the best.

  8. Thank you for the update. Even if I don't know your family personally, I feel as if I do. Tomorrow morning I'll call my own sister and ask, "Have you heard, Lucy is pregnant?" We talk about all of you like you are part of our family. We continue to be inspired by your living example of faith.

  9. Yet another beautifully written article. The love these sisters have for each other, and the love Christan and Stephanie have for each other is so wonderful. Thanks for letting us glimpse into your life too. I think the Nielsons and the Clarks are both amazingly wonderful families.

  10. I am glad Christian is taking the time he needs to heal and I hope everyone is respecting his wishes. Your families are what I want for my children. I come from a broken home with an abundance of conflict and I hope that I can do for my children what your parents have provided you. Please tell Christian that the beauty of Stephanie is apparent to all of us. Her actions in the face of death was a testament to her character. She expressed gratitude, thought of her mother, and wanted to serve her family. She is all that I want to be. We love you all because you give us hope for love, family, faith and happiness. Thank you, thank you for sharing your lives with us.

    Alice
Thanks for sharing with the world basically the updates of Christian and Stephanie. I have been reading the blogs for some time, and I look forward each evening of coming home and reading the new day's writings.
I was glad to read the newspaper account of exactly how the accident happened, and now have a clearer image of all that has happened to them, and the long recovery they are both facing. My prayers are with them daily.
    thanks again for the updates...

I cant believe you went to a reunion instead of the concert.

  13. Alice, ignore the criticism. You are doing what you need to do and I applaud everything that you and your family as well as the Clark's have been doing.
Please know that there are so many of us that are still praying for Stephanie and Christian as well as all of your families.

Keep your strength up and Thank you for the update!

  14. I can't believe someone seriously just wrote that. Wow. If being at two places at one time were possible, I guarantee that Alice would have been at both the reunion and the concert.

  15. Alice, I love your blog. I just wanted to let you know that. I hope you are having a great day and thank you for sharing with us. I am just getting into this blogging world and am amazed that this other world is out there. You are a very peaceful person and it shows through your entries. Thank you- Amie in Gilbert

  16. I am also horrified that anyone would have the bad manners (to say the least) to criticize any of you... as if this is all for their entertainment. It's downright creepy. None of you have any obligation to anyone but your own families!
It's like you all go out and take cookies to the stalkers in your bushes and some are mad that it's "peanut-butter agaaaain".
I appreciated your gracious post addressing the balance you are striving for in a terribly difficult situation that you are living in a fishbowl. What ever happened to "if you don't have anything nice to say..."
