Donation Information

People have been so generous with their donations for Christian and Stephanie's recovery. It is amazing. There has been some confusion about how to donate because there are two different bank accounts, so hopefully this will clear things up.

Please make checks payable to:
"Christian & Stephanie Nielson Rehab Fund"

You can either deposit it at any Bank of America branch, OR address as above and mail to:

P.O. Box 8850
Mesa, AZ 85214

If you prefer, you may also donate using the PayPal link at the right. (This goes to a Wells Fargo account listed as "Stephanie Nielson Fund" set up by her family in Utah.)

PLEASE beware of any other "funds" claiming to be in their behalf... they are likely to be fraudulent.

How do we donate to the Kinneard family? They also have expenses; funerals are very expensive, plus his wife is now the sole supporter for their family. Will a portion of the funds collected go to the Kinneard family? How can we assist their family as well?

Did Christian and Stephanie not have medical insurance? While many of us have donated to help, we're now left confused as to where this money is actually going. I agree with the poster above. The Kinneard's certainly deserve some of the funds. It's only the right thing to do.

I have always been of the belief that is my duty to give to others, and it is their duty to properly dispense the money--not mine to regulate. I don't know the answer to the questions above, but everything I have read indicates this family WILL do the right thing with the money. Health insurance has a maximum payout. There are co-pays. Many health insurers don't cover rehab and PT. Further, these two people have been in an accident and are clearly not working. Their children have expenses and needs. The list goes on and on. It is also not this family's duty to fund another family's needs. If you want to regulate the money you give, you should give elsewhere.

Correct me if i'm wrong, Alice...but to those wondering where the money goes, or SINCE they have insurance then why the need for donations....it's because their insurance policy only covers up to one million dollars....but Stephanies recovery is right off the bat going to be at least 5 million and that's just the beginning. Insurance doesn't cover 'forever.' It has a limit.(unfortunately) SO, that's why the need for donations. To help cover the millions more. Hope this helps. This is how I understood it.

BTW,(I posted the last post) I'm just a blog reader and do not know the Neilson's personally. But when I made a contribution I read this info somewhere.(About justifying the need for donations) Was it your blog Alice? I can't remember where I read it.

How sad that we forget our compassion and start looking at the negative things. Please, remember that we care about both families and that this family is doing it in a way that people are seeing. I don't care where my money goes as I know that this family has so many expenses (house payment, etc) that it is going somewhere that will help them. Remember why this is happening.. there is a family (like many others) that we are able to help and have been blessed to see how faith can work and how we as people can think of others and bring out the best of ourselves.

I agree with the last anon poster... The first two comments really aggravated me.

I think it's rude and disrespectful to the Kinneards to assume they aren't being cared for. These are wonderful people I'm sure, grieving in private as they choose. I haven't heard them complaining. And for the poster insinuating these assumptions-Do something for the Kinneards. Start a fund for them....but don't point fingers and try and cause discord.

As far as I can tell by what I've read(which blog are you reading?) the Nielsons' children are being cared for by family, not funding.

But I would gladly contribute to either of these families if they needed personal help. All party's involved are in my prayers.
