An Eventful Day at the Hospital

Christian got to visit Stephanie in her room today and express his love for her. It was very touching. Stephanie is still sedated, but she was incredibly responsive while Christian was talking to her! Christian said he would like to have a family prayer, and said he would offer it. He gave a beautiful prayer of gratitude and hope.

Afterward he needed to rest, but my mom and I went back later. He was awake and was glad to see us. After just a few minutes he asked me to sing again, which I did. He is always very peaceful when I sing, which in turns brings me a lot of peace.

I was so sad when I finally had to leave. I just wanted to stay, but I needed to get home to my family. Christian and Stephanie are both amazing people and I love them very much!

Christian said he feels all of your prayers. Thank you so much!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful moment with all of us. My heart is broken for this family but I have faith and I know they will get through this.

I have been reading Nie's blog for several years and I just know a year from now she will be back at her computer telling us all about her recovery and her beautiful family.

You are in my prayers everyday. God bless.

  3. Thanks for sharing that. So tender and sweet. It is so sweet to hear that she was more responsive when he was with her even if it was in the slightest. It's like a romance novel.

I'm so happy Christian got to visit Stephanie. Sounds like the best medicine. Thank you for sharing these moments with us. I discovered your family's story through the Today Show. I have read most of Stephanie's blog and am truly a better person for having done so. She has such a wondeful way of looking at life. I have been reading Courtney's blog and luckily discovered yours too and am grateful to be able to see how Stephanie and Christian are recovering. You are all in my daily prayers.

  11. I'm in tears. What a special moment. Their story continually makes me count my blessings and not rush through the paces of life so much. You know my sister Amy... and I think we've met before, maybe. You seem so familiar. By the way, I loved the hotel post. What does your husband do? Everything was so well done and beautiful!

Thank you for this post tonight. It answered some of the questions I had.

I had actually tried to leave a comment on the previous post earlier this afternoon, but as I finished typing my fingers got "away" from me and the text I had just typed suddenly disappeared.

I get chills when I read about you singing to C&S.

I will continue praying for your entire family!!

  18. Your Family have been in our prayers daily. When I told my Mother-in-law of this accident she realized that her sister and brother-in-law lived right across the street from you as you were growing up. And I believe that your grandparents live near them now. Minnie and Raymond. We experienced one of our family members being seriously injured last January. We pulled together and with great love and with Heavenly Fathers love...we have been able to do the things that were needed and to have such a positive outlook! Keep on singing!! Thank you for the update!

Do you know if the hope concert was recorded on audio or visual. I just think how wonderful it would be for them to be able to see it, and if you were willing to sell copies...I would pay a pretty penny for one. It was a great concert. I think Jordan Bluth was our favorite, and the family participants too. It was such a fitting and loving night. Let us know!
